Mason Mount’s late strike salvaged a point for Manchester United against a strong Brentford side, ending in a 1-1 draw.
Mount, who recently transferred from Chelsea, found the back of the net in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
The goal marked his first for Manchester United, and well as his first Premier League goal since December 2022.
His low finish into the bottom corner seemed to secure victory for the Red Devils.
However, Brentford, quickly responded just three minutes later with Kristoffer Ajer firing home from an Ivan Toney cut-back to level the score three minutes latet.
Despite United taking the lead, Brentford’s attacking persistence throughout the match was finally rewarded.
Thomas Frank’s side registered a total of 31 shots on goal compared to United’s 11 attempts.
They struck the woodwork four times, leaving them unlucky not to secure all three points.
Brentford also made Premier League history by becoming the first team this season to record at least 80 touches inside the opposition box.
For Manchester United, it was another disappointing result, further denting their hopes of securing a top-four finish.
The draw leaves them in sixth place, 11 points adrift of the Champions League spots and eight points behind fifth-placed Tottenham.
