Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory FCT Minister, reportedly held a closed-door meeting with the Board of Trustees BoT of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, led by Senator Adolphus Wabara on Tuesday.
Although journalists were denied access to the meeting, there were rumors suggesting that it was a step towards addressing the ongoing turmoil within the party, particularly in Rivers state.
The BoT had in August written Wike, seeking a meeting, just days after meeting with the Rivers state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
It was however, not immediately clear whether the BoT was able to reach a resolution with the minister.
In related news, Bauchi state Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir on Tuesday dared Wike to set his state on fire if he’s capable, declaring that he has gathered enough treated water to quench any form of fire.
The Governor was responding to the warning from Nyesom Wike that he would set PDP States who oppose him on fire.
The Governor said that the crisis rocking the party is not personal, stressing that nobody should misunderstand the party as it is still united.
According to him, “If we have quarrel, it is not personal, nobody should misunderstand us, we are together. This is not a splinter group, this is just a delegation from the National Working Committee of the PDP.We are going to discuss some of the issues in the party”
