A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Oyo State, Ambassador Olufemi Oguntoyinbo has appealed to Oyo State government under the leadership of Engineer Seyi Makinde to ban any form of trading on roadside.

Oguntoyinbo noted that this was necessary to avoid further loss of lives on roadside.

The PDP chieftain said this via a statement issued on Wednesday.

Oguntoyinbo while reacting, lamented that most of those who lost their lives were traders who had their products displaced on the roadside.

He said, “It is sad that despite the effort of the state and local governments to prevent street trading in the state, the accident also exposed the people’s disobedient to the directive.

“I call on the state government not to relax its efforts at stopping street trading. It is sad that most of the victims are people buying and selling on the streets”.
