A pastor has shared a shocking experience of how a church member allegedly deceived him with a fake visa promise and withheld his international passport.

In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the cleric revealed that the member offered to help him secure a visa to Dubai, promising him a three-day trip to relax and enjoy himself.

According to the pastor, he was asked to submit his passport and prepare for travel.

Excited by the opportunity, he informed family members and made arrangements to travel to Lagos ahead of his scheduled flight.

Speaking in Yoruba, the pastor recounted:

“One of my church members told me to bring my passport and that he would help me get a visa. He said I would be travelling to Dubai and only needed to spend a few days there to enjoy myself.”

The pastor said he arrived at the airport on the agreed date, only to discover that the church member was nowhere to be found.

Repeated calls went unanswered, and the man’s phone eventually became unreachable.

He lamented that the passport was never returned and that he had to go through the stress of obtaining a new one.

“The passport was not misplaced. He deliberately kept it. I didn’t travel anywhere; he deceived me, and he was a church member,” he said.

The cleric added that he eventually saw the man again about six or seven years later, describing the encounter as a painful reminder of the betrayal he suffered.
